Though many people seem to use the lounge for their blog, thought we could start a list of people who have blogs already going, see what others are doing and with what software.

Mine's in my sig link. It's only two months old but working on it.

Mine is well hidden! No one will ever find out my blog!

I use Moveabletype 3.15. A friend and I actually bought the full retail software. Very handy. I'm also running my own webserver. B&W G3s still have some use, when find one.

I like this thread, I need some good blogs to read. I bookmarked yours JZ, I like it.

Mine is a very different blog. More of a personal journal than anything but occasionally I will right more interesting stuff.

I sort of have one, but it gets updated very rarely. I say "sort of" because it's more a place for me to share pictures with friends and family, but every now and then I'll write something for it.

I HAVE A FAN! OH MY GOD!

The Guide to JoshuaZimmerman.com History:

Quite possibly the greatest set of comments ever posted on the internet. This post and the next few ones are what the internet is all about.

The start of my semester in Japan. The awe inspiring story of one young college boy, and his trip to the land of 1000 types of green tea flavored candy.

But lets not forget that my blog should be filled with tales of wonder and intrigue when I actually start my new job in Japan at the end of this month. Ooooo...

Tune in next week! Same bat time, same bat channel!

Do you guys REALLY want me to start a Palm Beach blog?

It would actually be very entertaining.

And eye-opening.

I just don't think I have the time.

But I'll give it some thought...just for Randman's sake.

Yes you do. If you have the time to post topic after topic in here, you have time to post topic after topic in a blog

I agree, you have time.

I am starting a blog/gallery soon based on Mambo. I will keep you posted. I probably wont be interesting until I start school again in the Fall because all I do now is wake up at 5:30, work in a cubicle from 7:30 to 5, and then go to sleep at 8:30 day after day.

As Randman has pointed out once or twice, your rant posts are essentially blog entries. You clearly have time to make those.

Yes, you definitely can blog, Cody. In fact, copy some of your posts here, change the timestamps, and you'll have a year's head start

I've been blogging since long before the word 'blog, since around 1993.

Here's the front page: http://www.GeekTimes.com/michael/

There's things about Macintosh, travel, kilts, etc.

No big whoop :-)

And I'm about to start helping out at http://sf.metblogs.com/.

It's been covered in a few threads.

You can use your iPod for part of it if doing a mobile recording.

If not, use GarageBand and create Vocal, use a microphone (iSight won't work in this case) and record your program, adding music and whatnot if wanted. Export the final track to iTunes. Convert to AAC in iTunes and upload it to a blog (I know iBlog works and I think Blogger has this built-in),

I've been recording one and will try and upload mine in the next day or so.

I have no problem creating the audio file it's just the bloggy part that confuses me
If I start a blog with say, word press... am I going to be able to just put it in a post and have it show up in someone's aggregator or on the iTMS?

I have two: A general blog, fairly boring, mostly used to keep my far flung family updated on what's going on in my life:
A Box Of Strange Fungi

And one dedicated to my writing:
Book Log

You'll have to create an rss feed for it and submit that to the iTMS folks for consideration. Not sure about word press but I tried it out in iBlog on my .Mac site and it works fine.

Part of it is talking about Macs and iPods. Then I have an interview about a unique profession and top it off with an editorial/column of mine published not that long ago.

Though if I do a second, I might hold that stuff off. I'm covering the IOC announcement of the 2012 Summer Games on Wednesday and if I can get some extra interview time with various celebs and honchos, I may do my first Podcast on interviews from that.

I'll take my iPod photo (about 10GB of space so plenty of recording time) with an Griffin iPod mic.

I know you have to have an RSS feed for it. I guess perhaps I need to actually run something with an RSS feed before I understand it. I thought RSS took text and passed it on. I guess I just need to do some research on my own... crap I wish I still had my hosting account.
