"There are now more overweight people across the world than hungry ones, according to experts."

Ok that is freaky.

So what it does not affect you really it is their problems. As for the cost if you would take all this time and harrass people with cancer for example what would you be called?

We all have some problems some obesity you it is not to be so kind.

So you'll defend people whose care (or lack thereof) for their body actually creates a burden on society, but you jump down the throat of anybody attractive? You're a strange cookie.

P.S.

China typified the changes, with a major shift in diet from cereals to animal products and vegetable oils accompanied by a decline in physical work, more motorised transport and more television viewing, he added.
Last time I was there, the people definitely looked fatter.

Plus deep fried chicken is now one of the fave fast food there now. Bleah.

I don't really know either, but it looks like she and Chuckit are both up in arms thinking you're making some negative commentary about fat people. I don't really see it in your post. interesting.

Actually. Here, let me try and translate Monique's post:

I ran it through an array of computers....
From what was decoded, I believe monique meant to say that she is offended by the 'persecution of the obese' and that it is their problem, so why point it out. Cancer patients aren't persecuted. (?)

wait... another message from the computers... monique may be slightly overweight and is therefore personally offended by people talking about obese people.

Ok, it isn't perfect, but that's a little better.

Yeah, I think Chuckit was talking to Monique. You said nothing bad about overweight people, and you don't have a pattern of doing it, so I think she's a tad defensive...

Hey, I was just translating, not editting for content.

If I were to decypher the actual message it would read:

So what? It does not affect you, really, it is their problem.

As for the cost, if the researchers spent all those resources harassing people with cancer, for example, what would they be called?

We all have problems, some have problems with obesity. Why can't you treat it as a real disease and be compassionate?
Anyway, I think that's what she's really trying to say.

I would translate the last line as, " We all have problems. For some, it's obesity. For you, it's lack of kindness."

I wish typing on my Mac could burn more calories.

Anyway, re: thread.

The mention of most obesity's harm on society is hardly an automatic poking-fun at those who are obese. The food industry can be mostly to blame, and not all obese people have complete control over their condition (though, by and large, most do).

It's sad, though. The world probably has enough food to feed everyone, but instead we get this.

Looks like we could make a game out of translating Monique. Perhaps we should start a thread where someone picks random posts and we decipher them.

No, not really.

heh, not really! I mean, come on, she's got a reputation for that kind of attitude... it becomes so much simpler if you don't give it a second thought. And I really think you needn't.

So you're like the anti-santa.

So anyway, this is a good development, no? More people with abundant food than people with too little food..

Yup. I can guarantee it that if you took any of these typical fat guys off the street, and put them on diet with a mild calorie deficit and made them jog 3 times a week, they wouldn't be fat after a few months.

If I stopped exercising and starting sneaking sodas and candies and extra meal portions, I would be fat too.

For almost everyone, the simple fact is that if you start eating fewer calories than your required caloric intake, you will start losing weight. People always try to get around this, by eating, say, 2600 calories a day in organic snacks and subway sandwiches, or 2500 calories a day in "low carb" cheeseburgers. None of that works, you just have to get yourself together and control how many calories you eat.

The problem would go away if the political problems and corruption in those countries went away. The money people donate doesn't ALL go to the starving. Some is used for bribes just to get the food to some of the starving.
