You guys (and gals) probably already know about this, I just saw it in a forum :

http://www.letmegooglethatforyou.com/

Put in your search term, click on the Google search button and then copy the link into the relevant post/email etc.

And what's the purpose of this site? Seems kind of redundant? I can copy a url or use google w/o any help and I suspect the majority of people surfing the net can as well.

You obviously don't hang out in places online where people ask lots of simple to find out questions. Or have friends who do the same.

No, I don't.

I'm not sure if that's a testament to the quality of friends or my antisocial behavior

I saw this in another forum, but didn't try it until now.
I think it serves a useful purpose.

The point is that it's redundant to ask someone else to Google things for you. It's for answering people who ask easy questions. Very often people will ask questions that can be answered just by typing their question into Google. For example, "How do I show file extensions in the Finder?" First result is a detailed, illustrated guide. So you send them a link to this site, which sarcastically illustrates the process in hopes of shaming them into putting in a little more effort next time.

Brilliant. I already had to send a link to my mother tonight. Can't wait to hear her response next time she calls!

Are you kidding? This sort of humor should be done much more crudely. Remove the excess period in the following URL:

Stupid language filters.

Interesting that, after waiting 15 seconds, it redirects me to a Google error page.

It's a rather funny way to showcase how some people refuse to perform basic research before asking a question in a group environment (email specifically).

I'm sure I'll use it soon...
