Help,

while looking around on my Mum's iMac, I found the 'Preferences' folder (in the Library in her user folder) to be nearly entirely cluttered with O KB folders named weirdly, about 80% of all folders are like that. Any idea? Virus? Should I be worried? Can I just delete this?
The iMac runs totally fun, fast, no problems, no instability.

Thanks!
Pete

you can delete them, probably not a virus.

mum could download, install and run these:

Maintenance

http://www.titanium.free.fr/download.php
1.5.5 for Lion, 1.4.0 for Snow Leopard, 1.2.7 for Leopard

ClamXav (free antivirus)

Most definitely NOT a virus.

It it were, ihre mutter would be the first to get one.

Try running First Aid from within Disk Utility.
