Michael Moore says:
"I don't agree with copyright laws, and I don't have a problem with people downloading the movie and sharing it...as long as they're not trying to make a profit off my labor.... I make these movies and books and TV shows because I want things to change, and so the more people who get to see them, the better."
You [used to be able to] download it here.

EDIT: I still had it cached...but I guess the Archive pulled it (I reloaded). I'm not sure why they took it down, or if/when they'll put it up again.

Saw it available for download at many places. Didn't download it even though I wanted to watch it. Why? I rather pay seeing it at the theater. Nope, I haven't seen it yet.

However, I did download Bowling for Columbine. Haven't seen that yet either.

I'm not sure that Michael Moore has the authority to OK the free downloading of that movie.

He's just the producer as far as I know. Certainly, there are other folks with a vested interest in the movie's profits.

While Mr Moore doesn't mind if you do it, his opinion might be worth the same as mine. After all, I don't care if you download it for free, either.

It's not like the link even works. As for myself, I've seen it already, so I don't need to download it. I already have.

Then why did you respond?
Why is there always money for war, but none for education?

What rules? The Internet Archive (archive.org) is completely legal.

I looked your post up...but the link was edited. I don't think Archive.org had it up when you posted, though, but maybe that is the site you linked to. Archive.org only hosts definitely legal material, so if that's the site you posted, DH had no right to lock it.

Naw, it was before the legal mumbo jumbo was known. DH locked it just to be safe I am sure.

I'm almost confident the Moore quote was proven to be a fake, and that the only place you could download the film was off the F911 site, when it was defaced and replaced with two large mpeg files.
<some witty quote that identifies my originality as a person except for the fact everyone else does the same thing>

Ahem.

That said, if you read that thread, you'll find that the distribution company has (so as not to piss of other movie studios) consented by saying they wouldn't do anything about it.

*shrug* I assumed since the movie is copyrighted that only the publishers would have been distributing it. Oops.
