It looks like it will finally get a small update. I guess it will be basically the same as the iMac 2.0GHz.

The low end PowerMac is gone. What the hell is Apple thinking?

Perhaps the Mini is going to be bumped to specs close to the low end PowerMac.

Before anyone jumps all over me with "wtf are you talking about, a mini is NOT a PM", note that I said specs CLOSE to the low end PM.

Processor bump to 1.6ish, 64mb graphics card.

The 1.8 PM also had only 256MB RAM and a 64mb graphics card.

Honestly with how the 20in iMac G5 was spec'd out the SP 1.8G5 looked less and less appealing. Kinda sad they took it away though, hope they replace it with something else.

Not everyone wants an iMac or Mac mini. Don't get me wrong they are nice machines. I went from a G5 iMac to a SP 1.8GHz PM and I'm very glad that I did. Some people are looking for a machine that can be upgraded. The low end PM was introduced just after the first run iMac G5 and it was basically the same specs as the iMac. If they put the low end PowerMac to the same specs as the current iMac I think they would be doing the Mac community a service. By them doing this I think they suck
