Alright. I'm a switcher... well, not yet. The 17-inch powerbooks is on order and will be my first Mac. But I've been on the forums for a while (actually, just the Powerbook forum) and I've seen it a few times, but can someone give me a real good, concise description of the Knofibulator (spelling)? Thanks in advance!

(I tried the website, but found it not that informative. Figured the best way would be to ask the old school users.)

Yeah, I was gonna order a 170-inch powerbook, but it won't fit in through my door, and I think that the size kind of defeats the purpose of a laptop.
Dooby, dooby doo.

You're getting a 170 inch PowerBook?
That doesn't sound very portable

Jokes aside, you can find everything aqbout Konfabulator in it's official website www.konfabulator.com

Konfabulator is a program that runs small applications called 'Widgets'. The widgets are written in JavaScript with extensions that allow them to access system properties. Typical widgets display information from online sources or system statistics. They are generally image based. The Konfabulator architechture allows almost anything to be implemented.

I have, and am making, some Konfabulator widgets right now. One shows the status of your printer, another the status of your keychain. Some i am working on a nationwide weather widget, an isometric city widget, and (i guess now, but this was orignially for personal use) a word counter widget (because TextEdit ain't got no Word Count

i absolutely hate Konfabulator.

I'd love to like it. I'd love for there to be well designed useful widgets out there.

So make one. Why would you hate the application when it's quite good? It's the widgets you're not satisfied with.

Konfabulator is a application that places little 'clocks' on your screen. "Clock" is another name for 'widget'. There are a wide range of widgets or 'clocks' available.
