Paul Hamm traded his warmup suit for a real suit Monday and shook hands with the man who wants to take away his gold medal. He then settled in for an 11 1/2-hour hearing that will determine, once and for all, the winner of the Olympic gymnastics all-around competition.

Three panelists on the Court of Arbitration for Sport listened to the arguments made on behalf of Hamm and Yang Tae-young of South Korea, who both believe they won the gold in Athens last month.

Within the next two weeks, the arbitrators will take the testimony from the hearing in Lausanne, Switzerland, make their ruling and finalize the result of the first Olympic gymnastics meet that couldn't get settled in the gym.

Yang Tae-young should just be happy with his bronze. He shouldn't have even medaled because of his THREE holds on the parallel bars...

I sure hope Paul's attourneys are good.

If you're sick of that drama, just be glad that you don't have to hear about Scott Peterson on EACH edition of each local newscast. Scott putting a tissue up to his eye is not news!!!

As for the gold medal debate, I don't think the impetus is the Korean athelete, but rather the Korean Olympic Committee. Olympic gold medals have become very important to a nation's pride. I believe that if the American and Korean roles were reversed, there would be just as much effort (if not more) by the Amis to have the "wrong" corrected.

you are kidding right? the guy got robbed of the gold medal and he just wanted to fight back. I am sure if the american were the victim of this case, he would have fought back also.

BUT, if they want to review the event, then they need to review the ENTIRE event and the Koreans wouldn't even medal.

i am not trying to start a debate with you. All i am saying is that if the result is the othe way around, then paul hamm would have done the same thing.
