Need help with this one... Always when I'm on I listen to loud music so when I turn it off it keeps the loud settings... Is there any possibilty of turning the startup sound for the iMac G5 off?

Press the "mute" button before you shutdown. After you've booted, un-muting it will set it back to the level you previously had.

Out of curiosity, why are you shutting it down? I only restart it for security updates and OS upgrades. (And you'll find that just about everybody else here will say the same thing. )
