Hi, I'm looking for a Folder Script that I can attach to my Desktop folder and that will take any items saved to or dropped on my desktop and move them into an existing folder on my desktop called clutter.
Anyone know of such an animal?

You can create a folder action to do that and assigning it to the Desktop folder.
Create the action in Automator and save it as a folder action and assign it to the Desktop folder.

Automator doesn't seem to allow me to save it as a folder script.

There's an Applescript called LibrarySorter out there that you could modify to sort to your needs.

In Automator go to the File->Save as Plugin menu option. Then select Plugin for Folder Actions and select the folder you want it to be attached to.

There's a great application for this by Noodlesoft called Hazel. It works somewhat better than a folder action as you can have it do timed actions after something has been on the desktop for a period of time, or automatically trashing files left in the trash for a week.

Hazel sounds great. I'll give it a try. Thanks!
