I'm planning on buying a 5gb iPod in the next week, but does anyone know if we can expect a price drop soon on the models?
I'm just worried I'm going to spend alot of money and then a week or so later the prices drop and I could have maybe got a better model.

from all the reports i have been reading it seems as if the 5 gig ipod won't be re-released, instead apple will offer 10, 20, and 30 or 40 gig ipods. of course this is all speculation so take it for what its worth. i'm planning on buying a low end ipod (all i can afford) as soon as the news is released

First of all, you will have a hard time even finding a 5 GB model. They are sold out pretty much everywhere.

I am not sure about price cuts but the 10 GB one might become the same price as the 5 GB one when the new ones come out.
