I had my DNS server running perfectly the first time I installed it. I messed the system up and reinstalled it while doing something else. NOW, I can't EVER get it going again.

Here is the log in the terminal

"could not listen on UDP socket: address in use" means something else is already listening on the name server port (53). Make sure there isn't an instance of named already running.

Tangentially, I'd highly recommend djbdns over BIND:
