Is there any way to change the search engine in the search box for Safari?

Get Inquisitor. It's free and awesome.
Inquisitor 3. Spotlight for the web.

Inquisitor does not seem to do very much except add what looks like Google Suggest. I could not find any way to change the search engine it uses.

Change the Source value in the Inquisitor pane located in Safari preferences.

Under the Search Engines sub-menu, tis gives you the choice of AltaVista, Ask Jeeves, Teoma, Vivisimo, Yahoo, and A9.com.

I'm surprised I don't see Wiki on there. I think you can edit the search channels. pozytron.com: AcidSearch

Thanks for the suggestions. I am not knowledgeable enough to add more search engines to the package contents of either Inquisitor or AcidSearch because I know very little about the kind of syntax they use. They are not using plain html, and it seems that every search engine has its own way of setting up.
