Hi,
I've been using the same library since 2004. I have approx 40Gb of songs and I have the feeling it takes more and more time for iTunes to launch. Even after a clean install as I did a few days ago, iTunes (8) takes 5-10 seconds to launch. That's too much I think.
I reaaally want to keep my playcounts and my playlists though. So is there a way to sart a fresh library without losing my playcounts and playlists?
Thanks

5 to 10 seconds launch time is normal for iTunes.

Why would it?
I'm not aware that library corruption would be a common problem with iTunes. And if it was, it would affect stability and data integrity, but not speed.

I don't know, in 4 years I've added and deleted tons of things, I don't know if it could affect iTunes. But if 5-10 seconds is an average loading time it's OK then.
