Sorry for that.

Gotta do some edit action. Better now ?

Mindfat, you'd better edit your post, too.

I saw it last weekend. I like the first one better for a few reasons. For example, the directing of some of the action scenes in this one was just confusing. Overall, however, it was an okay movie.

I agree, since I heard "mindfat" and "mindfag" the very first day I ever used the handle on the Internet. It is not worthy of even the timeline.

But yes! The movie! I plan on seeing it, fo' sheezy.

Maybe I had low expectations. Didn't have any idea what it was about and it turned out to be pretty good.

Has anyone read the original Bourne Supremacy novel and also seen the movie?

I started reading the book a few months ago before getting sidetracked with something else, and from what I've read, they're quite a bit different (at least in the beginning).

Comments?

It was OK.

But it should have been updated. Even tho it was filmed in the present it had Cold War written all over it with American and Russian spies running around all over Europe with big guns with full cooperation of the local police forces. Kinda laughable.

Same as the first: started/built up interestingly enough, but halfway through it fell, and the ending was quite anticlimactic.

The filming was quite awful. Overall, with decent filming it could have been okay but not good. I read the books (a long time ago), and don't think this movie was anything like them, except for a few small details. The first movie combined plot pieces from several of the books, which made it hard for the movie sequel to be faithful to anything. The book "The Bourne Supremacy" takes place mostly in Hong Kong, with a few episodes in mainland China. There is a larger, more over the top, external plot (the difference between a conspiracy to take over the world in the book versus a conspiracy to steal a few million dollars in the movie).

First book was good, second was pretty good, third was quite pained.

I haven't seen either of the movies but I hope they don't make a third.

Unless you are an expert in cinema movies are about personal taste and like I always say you should see any movies that you like and feel free to like them.

I really enjoyed Last Samourai and the Bourne Supremacy and I look forward to see the Manchurian Candidate, Collateral and the Village. I think Shymalayan got back what he had in the Sixth Sense well I will see.

Actually, by definition a clich has to be overused already. So when I said overused clich, that means it was really really overused. And underused clich would have to be an overused phrase that isn't as overused as it use to be...

I remember after seeing "Hunt For Red Ocrtober" people told me the book was so much better and the movie stinks. I never read the book but I really enjoyed the movie.

Ack.

I have given up listening to people about their movie opinion.

If I go to the movies, I want to be entertained, and I don't have as high of a standard as many of these self-designated movie critics.
I enjoy a movie and move on. I just don't have time to read every book and then figure out what was left out in the movie and bitch and scream about it...

I don't, I'm just expressing my opinion that a third movie would be a complete bomb.

Are you the opinion police or something?

E.W. gave Bourne an A, a distinction they usually only reserve for Lord of the Rings movies. Despite a little bit of motion-sickness from the handheld stuff, I thought the movie was great. It made a few things make more sense in the first one, even.

When I go to the movies, I want to be entertained; and I'll raise or lower my expectations based on the director or the genre. For instance I expect a lot from m.night. Didn't ask for much plot or character development from Terminator 3; i just wanted cool fx and lots of explosions.

For me the cinematography and editing really hurt the movie. The super fast cuts were distracting, and the moving camera was disorienting and annoying.

Some of it reminded me and my friends of blair witch.... Overall it was good, but I liked the other one better. I would like to talk about the ending but that would involve spoiling it.

Saw it and I actually enjoyed it. I liked the fast cuts and hand-held camera. Gave it a nice frenzied pace to what otherwise be ho-hum scenes.

I retract my statement about hoping for no third movie: didn't realize quite how different from the books it is.

I just saw the movie, and you are right on. Bourne Supremacy was about how many cuts the director could squeeze in, right? Or was it a spy thriller?

These cuts aren't just MTV-style-I'm-getting-too-old cuts, they were downright unneccesary. The cuts actually took away from the movie, IMHO. The one major HTH combat scene (and there should've been more) was filmed pretty much in the dark and the director was very liberal with these super-fast cuts. I guess it's easy to hide mistakes and hard-to-do moves.

They are NOTHING ALIKE, and I mean that in a big way. The only things they share is the title and a character named Jason.

Silly too, as the books storyline was much better.
