I was wondering if any of you dorks could Tivo the Top Gear that's coming on tonight. It's a new episode where the Bugatti Veyron races a plane across Europe. I've just found out that I only get BBC, not the deuce...

edit: It's on BBC2 at 8pm (EST?)

If you don't mind pirating it, it's normally up as a torrent by Monday .

What's the legality of sharing TV programs like Top Gear? Keep in mind that UK copyright law most probably applies.

No problems, ever. If someone got a virus from torrenting a TV show, they were doing something horribly wrong. Pirating programs, you're open to anything.

I'm downloading last week's show and I just realized that Aquisition does torrents now. Very cool, although it's probably last week's news.

Last week's was brilliant. The 10,000 Pound challenge is one of the best they've done.

As a "shareholder" of the BBC, I give you full permission to download and watch Top Gear. And Never Mind The Buzzcocks. And Rough Science.

I've missed Top Gear the last few weeks (although I caught it last night - very good episode), so I've been torrenting it - pirate bay seems to have it by Monday usually.

Frig, I missed last night's. My friend was supporting Paul Weller so I had to go to that instead.

I thinks its repeated on BBC3 or BBC4 or something later in the week because I caught last Sunday's sometime during the week.

No wait, sorry. It's normally repeated Beeb2 Tuesday but this week we've got under-12's five-a-side tiddlewinks (yes, it's the snooker again). I just looked in the Radio Times and can't see the repeat anywhere. Looks like you're gonna have to Torrent it.

Blarg, my iBook 500 doesn't really like playing videos too much, certainly not mpeg4s.

I'll try my luck.

Ahh.. The wonders of EyeTV!

Just sitting down to watch it now, as was at a pub quiz last night.

Just looking at the Marcos TSO-GT2 - http://www.marcos-eng.com/

Mmmmm......

I second Azureus as a great BitTorrent client. You can usually get the TopGear torrents off of mininova.org (NOT mininova.com) or torrent spy.com (Sorry if posting these sites is against ToS-Mods: feel free to edit if they are)

I have heard that BBC is planning to sell their TV show downloads online.....

Happy pirating!

Didn't like the new Marcos and didn't get what all the fuss was about - they've been using American V8s for years. The boss (Chris Marsh, before it went bump) gave me a tour of the factory some years back, got to drive a 450bhp LM500... ...now that was a sweet Marcos, very pretty (much prettier in real life than in pics).

It's likely to be UK only though.

They are currently offering some of their BBC Three shows online, but they check the geographical location of your IP before letting you connect.

Xenophobes.
They should do it based on a license fee ID and sell them online, that way anyone i the world could buy a license fee.
