Does it quit when it's loading the fonts? I had this problem before I trashed some of my fonts (can't remember which ones; just wildly deleted my add-on fonts).

I tought so to, but, one can do no other than to instal the fonts delivred with office X. The strange thing is, when i double clic a , lets say excel document, the the application works fine. As I stated before, opening excel and powerpoint result in a quit, opening by double clicking a related document: no problemas ????????????

Some people have found that turning off the Project Gallery will correct this issue.

Double click on an excel (or whatever file) doc to open the application (as you done successfully before) and then turn off the Project Gallery in the preferences menu.

I had a similar problem, and I fixed it. Check out this thread for a possible solution
