I have a dead motherboard in an Onyx powerbook that I inherited from my work. It's got a 667 cpu. I realized that it might be worth fixing up if I can find a motherboard off of ebay.

I would consider either getting the stock motherboard (Onyx style), which takes 550-667 mhz cpus or maybe getting a newer board in this system if it fit and worked correctly.
I know that apple also made TI books that came with 667-800 mhz cpus (Ivory) and have DVI (mine only has vga)
I know they also made 867-1ghz TI books.

Any idea on which ones will fit and work in my system?

It's likely that only the TiBook boards with IR and VGA would work, hence the 400-667 boards. The ones with DVI definitely won't work, but any of the ones with VGA _should_ work. YMMV, tho.
