I downloaded this last night, and am quite pleased, I have never been comfortable with apples Mail.app
this seems to be right up my alley (ashamed to say, much like outlook express interface)

I think Thunderbird is an excellent e-mail client. It's my e-mail client of choice on all my Windows/Linux boxes (and I recommend it to all of my friends and family), but I still prefer Mail.app on my OS X machines.
Have you seen the images for Mail.app in 10.4? I'm really excited about the changes that are coming. Maybe those (including the removal of the drawer) will make you more comfortable with the application.

As I mentioned in another post, definitely check out the Extensions that are available for Thunderbird and also look at the way the interface can be manipulated using the .css files.
