Modbook Pro | Modbook Inc.

The Modbook Pro gets official, CEO Andreas Haas talks success in an iPad world -- Engadget

Just announced, converted 13" MBP with OS X Mountain Lion. No prices or dates (other than 'Fall 2012' yet). It will probably be a good chunk more than the MBP price to get it though.

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

I wonder if they'd just sell the conversion kits? I recently dinged up my MacBook Pro's lid and now I'd be more tempted than ever to convert it into a tablet.

I'd love one of these, I just wish the prices weren't going to be so high. (Though I totally understand why.) One of these running Photoshop would be freaking killer.

So they're going to go out of business a third time without shipping any hardware?

The original ModBook shipped.

When did they go out of business? (I notice that the company is now called ModBook, Inc., and no longer Axiotron, but I haven't been able to find out anything about going out of business.)

The new company belongs to one of the guys from Axiotron but is not Axiotron.
I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....

The Engadget story the OP linked to talks about what happened to Axiotron.
