your help will be really appreciated

here's the thing
she bought a PowerBook G4 in 2002 and th HD crashed lately.
A tech friend change it with a 60g Generic (apple said its ok)
Of course she lost her Install Discs long ago
i fogot to format it before to install it and after it was done, i tried to install OSX 10.2.1 (my PowerPC version) n it didn't work (tried to boot with the c key) it just show a grey screen with a folder with ? on it.
then i tried to format it by plugin it in serial (firewire) with my mbp then i used utility disc, i ereased it n put it in OSX Extended(journaled) but when i tried again, it didn't change anything.

now i just dont know what else to do

can someone help me please

Put the powerbook into firewire target disk mode; connect it to your MBP; insert the 10.2 disc into your MBP; then see if it will allow you to load the installer and choose the powerbook's hard drive. Your post is hard to understand, so if you've tried this already, let me know.

Consider getting 10.4. It is much better than 10.2.

What Mac computer did your 10.2.1 disc come with?
