Has anyone else noticed this, its a competly fresh install, clean prefs.

Approx every third/fourth time I show the package contents of a .widget the Finder restarts.

Is it a documented bug? or just me I can't find it in the official bug list.

Try trashing the Finder plists (quit Finder if you have TinkerTooled it) and see if that fixes the issue. If it does, repair permissions and try it again.

Cheers, owe you a beer.

Edit: no I don't, it worked for a bit, but the problems back.

I've noticed this as well - for me it seems to have been triggered by pressing cmd-up arrow while further inside a package; somehow this sometimes wants to take me up several levels to where the package itself lies. At this point it's as if the Finder realises it has done wrong and is ashamed - it refuses to let me back into the package, and runs off ... only to restart seconds later with a clean conscience. I'm awaiting 10.4.1 .

I also can't use the path menu to take you to the top level of the package?

Weird.
