I use PageSender fax software on my Macs -- or used to. But, it used "Print Center" before to "add" the fax software to the Printer List.

Now I cannot find Print Center under Panther...is it gone?

I only have "Printer List" and that's it and it's not allowing me to add the software under it.

Where is Print Center?

Guess I'll make the standard call to AppleCare...

Print Center gone...not good.

Another reason why *some* people should not "upgrade" to Panther, perhaps?

Wonder what other issues people are encountering?

How?

I'm using MS Word. How do I do that?

"Send To" doesn't have it there. It's not under "Print" either.

Thanks for any help.

Just noticed that I'm not able to do anything with Preview under Panther either...I used to use (under File) "New from Clipboard" and now when I do that it says it cannot work -- "error"...

.....
Go to print, one of the options (the middle one on the bottom) on the print 'menu' that pops up is "fax".

Time for a clean install, methinks. Your installation appears to be FUBAR'd.

I think I've got it -- let me test it out.

On my Printer List it gives the name of the printer (7100 Series HP) and it says "7100 (fax)" so apparently that is it?

Will report back -- thanks!

To answer your original question, "Print Center" has been replaced by "Printer Setup Utility" in Panther.

You can find the app under Utilities, or launch it through System Preferences "Print & Fax" panel...

If any of these things are missing for you you should do an Archive & Install.

 Open System Preferences
Find the "Print & Fax" pane
Click "Configure Printer" - this will open "Printer Setup Utility" (formerly Print Center) which you also should be able to find in the "Utilities" folder. This will allow you to manage your printers. Maybe you should remove all then re-add them, since something appears to be broken for you.
The "Fax" pane in "Print & Fax" allows you to turn on fax receiving.
To send faxes do "Print..." from any app and in the Print Dialog press the "Fax..." button. It's the second last button row (Preview, Save as PDF..., Fax...)

"Printer List" isn't an Apple utility to my knowledge.
"New from Clipboard" in Preview works fine for me if the clipboard contains valid image data. Check the clipboard contents in the Finder (Edit->Show Clipboard).

Thanks everyone -- what a breeze that is/was!

Works great!

Guess I won't be needing PageSender now.

Great app for Jaguar, though.

This is good information to know. I'm new to X and so need to set up my printer. Can you have 2 printers set up at once on the same machine?

Absolutely.

I have an HP 2100m, an HP 7130, and HP 2210, and an older Epson set up on mine.

No problems at all.

Not only can you do so, it's a lot easier than it was on OS 9 (you don't have to keep switching between the printers in the Chooser).
