Hey folks,

I'm trying to connect a PC laptop to my PB, for some reason I can;'t seem to use SMB, so i tried FTp, but FTp access doesn;t seem to be on in XP, any clues as how to set FTP up on XP?

Cheers

Well...a few things first.

1) Be sure you are using a crossover cable betweem the two machines.
2) Go into System Preferences --> Sharing and turn ON "Personal File Sahring".
3) It may be necessary to also Turn Off your Firewall (I had to in order to use the internet sharing between computers via a cross-over cable). YMMV.
4) On the Windows machine, set up the network connection to use DHCP. The Mac will supply the IP address via the file sharing setting.

That should do it. Somebody jump in if I missed anything.

Cheers pubguy, I can now see the PB from the XP machine, but it asks me to log in, so I do that with my OS X account, but the dialogue keeps appearing.

Thanks again.

Cheers for the help, I managed to get Samba to work, so now fully functional.
