Since I'm here I might as well ask another question. Everysince I've bought my imac DV SE I've had problems with the modem. It
would connect at 44,000 bps then it would crash. I called my IPS and they said to add three ,,, after the phone #. It didn't work. I
then tried adding 6. It worked. I was connecting at 14,000 bps, slow but it worked. But for some reason when I connect now it's at 4,800 bps.
This is way to slow and it crashes. I'm thinking of getting a DSL. Would this help, or is this a bad modem or motherboard?
Thanks!

more likely it is your modem script, the ISP modem banks may not like it.... search the forum for keywords modem script, there are tons of links to many scripts

or go to versiontracker.com and search same keywords

also, trash your TCP/IP pref's file and the MacTCP DNR file and restart, then reset TCP/IP control panel settings accordingly... if these things are not helpful then post here again
