I heard about MacNN on another mac forum a while ago and thought I'd pop over and see what's up.

Can someone tell me a little about this place and its posters?

Hi, Trixalia! Well, the boards here are pretty interesting... HUGE community, but at the same time, lots of familiar sn's... Ca$h, me and Juanvaldes, Albert, Ice Enclosure... etc... I like it, it's a lot of fun But be prepared for a lot of extreme views... arguments abound, which is a good thing! Oh well... Anyway, welcome aboard, and hope to be seing more of you!

You're in luck. They just got new server hardware. Things are running better now. Before it was slow and buggy. Enjoy.

Hello Trixalia. Welcome. Introductions.
My username is maxelson. I can and have been called Max (I have also been called "dumbass", but that is neither hither nor yon)
I have facial hair. I am 100% non argumentative, totally non partisan and undeniably moderate in all of my opinions. In fact, quite often, I have no opinion at all. I express my lack of opinion as often as possible.
I support Hannibal Lechter's proclivities toward dining on the rude. Moby Dick is the single greatest work of the twentieth and ninteenth centuries and is actually quite useful in predicting assassinations, downfalls of various civilizations and DNS attacks.
I like Shakespeare, long slow walks in the rain, puppies, salt, coffee and cuddling on the sofa.
I look forward to not expressing my opinons with you.

Welcome.

I'm going to pull your head off because I don't like your head.

Instructions for a proper Noogie

1. Take victim's cranium in a firm but supple headlock.
2. Make fist with free hand.
3. Rub knuckles along top of victim's head.
4. Increase pressure of rubbing to taste.

Oh, yeah - welcome to MacNN, trix

Never for the ladies....I'm a perfect gentleman

As for proffesionalism, thats my number one priority...nothing is worse than an ill-administered nipple twister let me tell ya.

Anyways I look forward to pounding on all of you.........

I thought the proper term was "tittie twister". ::shrug::

Anyhoo...

Hello, hello Trixalia. Nice to meetcha. I dunno how to describe myself. One of the few chicks on this board, maybe (back me up here, Cheerios)? The one who resides in Hawaii and works in publishing? Yeah, I think that's getting there.

BTW, iE... I thought you were the fluffER, not just the fluff. Okay, slap me, that was bad...

Hey Trix!

I would be the "Albert" mentioned in Cheerios' post... just in case there's any confusion.

Anyway, welcome to MacNN... Compared to most people, I'm relatively new here myself (Dec 2000, less than a year,) although "old" enough to know the ropes and pick on the newbies. (j/k)

Anyway, yah! MacNN's a really cool place. You've got lotsa talented people that are more than willing to help you with any problem you may have, (Cipher, The Dude, Cheerios, myself,) lotsa creative types, (SonicBlue, Avenir, cpatubo,) and lots of people that just hang around and occasionally piss people off (cough*Ca$h*cough... eh, don't worry. he's much more sociable off forum. Just remember to take everything he says on-forum with a grain of salt... same goes for everyone else's posts, too.)

Did I mention that we're all insane? Or should I say... "We all Think different."

Oh, and don't listen to Rachael. She doesn't even use a Mac!
(j/k. she's cool.)

So...Hey! How ya doing? Enjoy it here at MacNN, and be thankful you didn't have to endure our slow server madness.

Anywho, ever need help with anything (life, macs, etc) just give us a hoot. We'll help you out.

Have a fun round!

Welcome to MacNN, Trix - if you've got a problem, there's none to large for us to take care of.

You've got the nicest bunch of people on any forum on the net here - but, of course, every rose bush has its fair share of pricks... as you'll soon learn

Feel free to contact me off forum (info is in my sig) if you so desire. Now... how 'bout you tell us a little about yourself?

Hey, I'm still here... was posting during class and hte prof was yelling at me... not that I didn't finish the damn drawing an hour early, but hey, what can you do :-/

Anyway, welcome to the few, the proud, the mac women! Or so I would assume, although I have been perplexed before... thought Misha was female for a long time, and was wrong :o Anyway, it's kwal, the boys are nice, mostly.

Oh, and don't listen to Rachael. She doesn't even use a Mac! <http://newforums.macnn.com/cgi-bin/wink.gif>

Thanks for the warm and interesting welcome!

I guess I'll tell a little about myself...been using macs for almost 11 years now...started out on a mac classic using "Aldus" PageMaker. I currently work as a production coordinator for a company that makes textbooks.

I live on the east coast and yep, I'm a 28-year-old chick. Feel free to refer to me as she, her, etc. Hope to be able to unwind and let off steam here as well as ask questions and learn more about my macs.

I'm most likely to be posting one liners in various threads or rants in political threads. Very soon to be 27 year old guy from Bozeman, Montana. Been using Macs just about the same amount of time as you - and even remember Aldus RageMaker (and Freehand.)

To prove that I am the not quite opposite of maxelson:

Although I am clean shaven guy who has never read Moby Dick, I love puppies and salt...

I have some family up in bozeman. I have a cousin who is a cop there actually. He was on the frontpage of the bozeman paper during that bank robbery a while back (seems like it was at least a year or two ago).

anyway, great town, i'll probably be up that way before too long.
