For the last several weeks, Mail on my iPad (iPadOS 15.5) has taken up to several minutes to populate its windows when I open it, or even when I go back to it after a short time using another app. Once it’s “up and running, “ it works fine.
I’ve tried fully closing it, and I’ve tried that with restarting the iPad, but there’s been no change.
I’m hesitant to delete Mail and then reload it, because I don’t know what data it has stashed in my iPad.
So if someone can clue me in on what exactly Mail stores on an iPad, I’d really feel better about deleting and reloading it. Thanks!

What mail providers is it trying to connect to? Strictly Gmail?

Several Gmail accounts, and a Yahoo account.

Last night I upgraded to iPadOS 15.6, and magically, my Mail issue disappeared. I open Mail, and BANG, everything is there right away.
I honestly don’t care what the problem had been. I’m just glad I no longer have time to get another cup of coffee while Mail loads.
