We've been about 10-30 degrees above normal in the DC area recently. Its 75 right now! I wonder if we will get a super hot summer or some weird weather all year. We could still get a snow as late as early April though, but I doubt it.

With heat also comes a strong hurricane season, one that typhoons onto the 13 colonies.

It's 78 right now in Atlanta and 82 in Statesboro, GA (where I used to live)... Supposed to hit the 80's here tomorrow. I hate working in a cube with no windows (even though we use Windows)...

First winter in 15 years of carpentry that we've worked comfortably outside the whole time. This Monday it broke 70 degrees, which is most impressive seeing how close I live to the coast.

It's always warm to hot on the east coast. Born and raised in The South. Always hot and humid in the summer time. The winter makes no difference at all.

Pollen season was in FULL EFFECT last week and then it rained so it's sort of calmed down already... My black car was yellow.

That's the thing that sucks about living in the south... it's always a mild winter and then nobody is prepared on those *few* days where it reaches the teens. Then, you think it'll be cold the next day but you're back to wearing flip-flops and shorts.

It's been a REALLY weird winter here. We've had some really warm temps in February, and now a good amount of snow this month.

The Pacific North West was predicted to have one of the coldest winters on record and that was a flop lol

Weather is notoriously hard to predict. We won't know until after summer.

It didn't get cold enough to kill the bugs so I'm sure we will be up to our necks in crickets, stink bugs and mosquito's. I'm putting down Sevin bug killer around my house this weekend!

I've been hearing a lot of that - the warm winter didn't kill off enough eggs, which is going to bite in the next few months. Get the industrial strength spray out!
Some dogwood trees are blooming here in NYC, daffodils were in full bloom LAST month, cats and dogs are living together, it's a wild scene, man.

The warm winter is the result of being in a La Nina cycle. Should be a normal summer on the US eastern seaboard per this diagram:

No kidding. Hit 78 today in Upstate NY today. My Village was swarming with insects I've never seen before mid April.
Working in my yard at 5p swatting Mosquitos on 3-18-12. I'm becoming nervous.

I'm having fun imagining how different this thread would be if it were in the PWL.

Whatever it is, it's awesome. I did 36 rounds of disc golf yesterday, and went hiking. Plus, all the girls out for St. Patty's dressed like whores, which usually doesn't happen til May or June!

It's 73 degrees out right now and I'm baking on a roof. Last week it was overcast and windy, just hovering above 40.
It never gets this warm this quickly near the coast, what a strange last 4 months it has been.
