Hey... I've heard it mentioned on here about which week your MacBook is... and I'd really like to find out which week mine is, but I have no idea how to do so. I have a feeling mine's pretty early, even though I bought it only a week ago... I don't think they sell many MacBooks in the OKC Penn Square Apple store, so mine must have been one of the first in stock!

Click the Blue apple in the menu bar and select about this Mac.

Click the greyed 'version number' under Mac OS X once.

Click the greyed 'build number' once and the serial number toggles up.

the two digits following the 4H6_ _ are your week build code...ie 4H635xxxxxx where 35 is the week built.

Only for conversation or if a known revision occurs, you will know relative to others, when yours was produced.

It's a means of electronic profiling, like Cabbage Patch dolls.

It's also how Apple ID's their machines.

Any repairs needed or parts ordered make this knowledge necessary; like auto VIN's.

Also located in the battery compartment, visible with battery removed.

Also on the outside of the MacBooks' shipping color carton.
