How I lock Desktop Icons

I have mac os x and i move the hard drive icon in the desktop to a specific position but when i shut down or restar the computer the icon come back to the default os position. any way to lock the desktop icons in a specific position.

mine does the same thing. i wonder if there is a simple solution to this as well.

This is one of the few things that still drives me crazy. A solution would be nice.

Desktopwrap is great if you are at OSX 10.4, but I remain at 10.3.9.
Is there anything out there for 10.3.9 that will stop icons from roaming between shutdowns?!
