Hi, I've checked a bunch of discussion boards and seeing allot of complaints about iMac screen freezes... last year (2007). Has the problem gone away for everybody except me?

At least a two or three times a week my iMac screen freezes. Usually I am able to move the mouse around, but cannot click on anything. Also, on an even more common basis, I get video glitches where I will have a thin line running across a portion of the screen or a small area (say, 1 or 2 inches) will suddenly shift to an a 45 degree angle. These things happen at very random times, and would seem to have nothing to do with overloading the memory.

If anyone can offer some suggestions I would really appreciate it.

P.S. I am using OSX 10.5.5, Intel Core 2 Duo processor.

Looks like a GPU failure. Do you have a hardware test disc you can run?

Thanks for the response. Not sure what you mean by a hardware test disc. I do have the OSX Leopard disc.

Thanks, I'm going to have to look for that disc. Not sure where it is.
