Hello,

I have a beige 266MHz Rev A G3 Desktop. I'd like to put an internal CD/RW in it to replace the factory CDROM. Can I just go to the computer store and buy any A-Open, LG, BenQ or other cheap brand and stick it in? Do I have to have a particular drive to get it to work with iTunes burning?

Cheers!

I suggest you look at www.xlr8yourmac.com's drive compatibility database.

In Mac OS X, compatibility with iTunes is fairly broad. In Mac OS 9, it is decidedly not. The site above has hundreds of users' actual reports of different combinations of Macs, OSes, and drives.
