The only one I watch is Surreal Life on VH1. I watch it because every episode is a train wreck.

I watch America's Next Top Model because my wife does -- and I get to look at hawt chicks (where there are any) slinking around without getting into trouble.

That's the second one. The first one had Heather and Julie.

It used to be, but that was in the '80s.

I watch ZERO "reality" shows. A classmate's sister was on Big Brother (I don't know which incarnation), and my classmate said her sister had to deal with a lot of "unreality" on the show. Much was based on real interactions, but many of the real interactions were "rescripted" so they'd play better to the audience. If something that's supposed to be "real" needs a script, I don't need it.
End of rant. Continue about your lives, citizens. Nothing to see here.

Big Brother does that because it's always been a second-rate show. Obviously, for a reality show, that's pretty sad.

Sometimes I watch Dog: The Bounty Hunter too - it takes place in Hawaii, with these gaudy looking haole's with big hair running around nabbing ice hawking bond jumpers.

I thank the stars that I haven't had TV for a long while and missed out on all these shows. I hear people talking about them all the time or will see ads for them at friend's homes - I just don't understand. I continually think this world is plunging into mass stupidity - and reality shows are a perfect barometer for said stupidity.

I like a couple of them. American Idol (yes Yes yes I know) I love it for the comments that come from Simon. I also like Apprentice as well. It's interesting to see how people working to become his apprentice try to complete their tasks and how the work with other people. It also gets you to think how you would perform a certain task.

The Amazing Race
Because it could be me out there and it is fun to watch.
Next Top Model
Because of the opposite and love the idea of the under dog with the winners.
The Apprentice
Because it could be me without a diploma because I possess good sense.

There are only two I have ever seen that I thought were good.
The Amazing Race and the BBC show SPY
I would actually pay money to compete in either one. The ideas behind them are pretty unique and I think it would be worth an investment to experience the scenarios.
The rest of the shows out there pretty much suck. Real world was great but the idea was new 13 years ago, now the concept is repetitive

I hate all of them. However I encourage anyone making a reality show called "The Reality Show" - it follows the technical production crew working on a reality show called "The Reality Show" - a show following a production crew working on a reality tv show.

Yeah, the BBC show "SPY" is freaking awesome -- but it hardly ever airs over here. I saw the last episode of two of them, and both were great.

Dirty Jobs and American Chopper.
I'd actually call shows like Survivor and Big Brother game shows. They are competing for money.
