Found a 3 ghz clovertown to replace my 2ghz processor. But, what does SLAED mean? This was part of the description. Am assuming this will work but want to be sure before ordering. Will this work? Also, what does SLA4P mean and will it work? With all the different nomenclatures with the x5365 clovertowns, does it matter as long as its a x5365?

I was on that site yesterday looking at that. Kind of know what it means but couldn't find anything referring to the SLA4P. Its some kind of identifier. Thanks.

Yes, the X5365 is the Clovertown you're looking for. It has an LGA 771 socket so it will fit in your Woodcrest Mac.

The X5365 came in two steppings: G0 (that's the SLAED version you saw) and B3 (SL9YZ). The G0 increased the voltage to 1.35V and dropped the TDP to 120W. The older B3 had a 150W TDP. The G0 was released 4 months after the B3 and costed almost $200 less.

Google only shows a few references to SLA4P; it may have been the intended sSpec code that was later changed.

ARK lists the B3 as SLAC3
