Hi,

does anyone knows if it's possible to increase the resolution of the screen... 800x600 isn�t enough...

No, it's not possible to do it. LCDs are fixed resolution, they can emulate lower resolutions but not higher.
Are you using X? If this is the case check out Space App in versiontracker, can help.

I wonder if you could fit a new 1024x768 lcd in there? They are the same physical size as the old 800x600 ones, right? If the connector was the same.... Hrmm...

I just found it at versiontracker.com
it seems to let you have several desktops at the same time and lets you switch around to the different desktops. The floating palette on of the app. is the method to switch around and can be made very translucent. Do really see how useful this app is, but it's out there and it's freeware.

I have it on good authority that it isn't possible to replace the screen in an old ibook with a higher-resolution screen. Someone has tried, and even though he was able to physically connect it (not easy, since it isn't just a question of swapping identical parts) OS X won't boot properly with the new screen installed. Apparently it searches for the old 800x600 screen for some reason.

Thanks for the help... well i guess i will stick with the 800x6000 for some time... in Portugal mac are very expensive... way to expensive, and probably only 2% of computers users have macs...
