I just ordered one of the refurbed 8gb iPhones from apples website. I am not sure if an iPhone will work well for everything I need, so I want to do the following: when I first activate it - I want to fail the credit check so I can go with a prepaid GoPHone plan that I can get out of if I hate it. Then is I like it, I'd like to somehow register as myself and get another iPhone and a family plan.

Will this work? Any advice greatly appreciated.

I think you have to have the $59 a month plan or up and the $20 iphone data plan minimum. I could be wrong but I think that's the lowest plan you can have with the iphone and AT&T.
