You have to use Stuffit 6, because Stuffit 7 isn't compatible because AOL was too lazy to update their stuffit.

Hey, you guys are on top of things! Nevertheless, I updated the patch ever so slightly. You can find the patch, along with the usual pre-patched version of AIM at:

http://www.bluebomber.com/misc/

Does all the usual banner killing and stuff.

I also had a question. I was thinking of making a homepage to host the patch, instead of just having it loose in the directory. Think I should do it?

We love you, Bluebomber21XX. Thank you!

Sure, a simple page with an icon and very brief text would be nice. Nothing fancy would be necessary, of course.
The server made a boo boo. (403)

Yeah, but iChat doesn't do direct IM image transfers, or file transfer now, does it?

Personally, I find iChat to be nowhere near as polished as AIM. AIM is very stable, has no ads (hehe!), and does everything I need it to. And once you turn off the tickers, it also takes up very little CPU cycles.

iChat does support those actually but i don't like iChat because it has problems with letting other AIM clients know it's color/fonts.

I didn't know iChat could do file transfer. I'll have to look into this.

Meanwhile, I've created a page for the files. If you'd like to download the patch, please see the page at:

http://www.bluebomber.com/misc/aimx/

It's got a screenshot and some background info.

You are the man.

I was always wondering how to get rid of those banners on the OS X version of AIM since I had the AIM 4.2 banner hack on my classic AIM.
