There's a new patch for No One Lives Forever 2 available from MacPlay. The NOLF2 application is now at "1.3 version 23", while the version that shipped was "1.3 version 21". The included RTF file reports that this release fixes the refresh rate problem, which it does - I did not have to change the refresh rate on my monitor for the game to start.

However, it didn't fix the two other fatal problems I have been having:

- Crashes whenever game controlled characters appear on screen if the resolution is set to anything other than the lowest settings. This seems unreasonable as I'm running the game on a 1.8SP with the ATI9600

- Dialogue runs together and animatic sequences miss cues.

Oh well. It's nice to see that they're actually trying to do something, but I'm still sorely disappointed.

At the MacPlay web site, under Support --> Patches --> No One Lives Forever 2, also known as http://www.macplay.com/support/nolf2.php. The patch is labled as 1.0.0, but when you download it and get info, the version is given as "1.3 version 23". Confusing, but my guess is that they want to keep the version numbers synchronized with the PC version.

I'd have bought this by now if it worked on Panther/latest QT.

The extended delay reflects very poorly on MacPlay.
