I'm considering a more difficult selection for my next piece, and I started wondering which pieces moved others the most. If you have suggestions, please post links to iTunes so that others can hear your selection.
I'll start with one of my favorites: Rachmaninoff: Concerto No. 2 in C Minor

Been inclined to wander... off the beaten track.
That's where there's thunder... and the wind shouts back.

I'd say one of the later Beethoven piano sonatas.

Because D minor is the saddest key.

I’m really big on Rachmaninoff’s Concerto No. 3 – I have performances from three different pianists (Vladimir Horowitz’s rendition being my favorite).

Answer you're not looking for: probably Leaving Hope by Nine Inch Nails (though it's not strictly Piano, it could be without losing too much).
Answer you're looking for: Für Elise by Beethoven.
You didn't ask what we thought was best, just what had moved us the most...

Chopin's Fantasie-Impromtu. I also like Schubert's Impromptus (especially no. 2). I'm just a Romantic-era impromptu kinda guy, I guess.

Anything by Jerry Lee Lewis. Of course, he moves himself quite a bit while playing.
Oh, and anything by Barry Manilow moves me to upchuck.

Eric Satie. altho I was just skimming through "Complete Piano Music" and I'm not sure they'd be particularly challenging technically.

I thought his Karma Police cover was good.
They used it for a transition on NPR once. Caught me off guard.

Most moving piano music... oh man. I haven't thought about it enough to come up with my most moving piano pieces, but here's a few off the top of my head that I find very moving:
All of the late Beethoven sonatas
Prokofiev - Sonata No. 6, third movement
Ravel - Le Tombeau de Couperin
Beethoven - Piano Concerto No. 4
Liszt - Sonata
Liszt - Funerailles
Janáček - Sonata, 1.X.1905
Scriabin - Sonata No. 7
Chopin - lots of stuff - both Sonatas (nos. 2 and 3, that is), lots of the Nocturnes, Polonaise-fantaisie
