On my BW G3, I installed 9.1 from scratch. Now, each 2nd boot (in pure 9.1, not Classic) the Mac does not recognise the monitor and forces the 800x600 resolution. I have to restart to get back to my 1024x768 normal rez.
Next restart: 800x600 again...

since 2 weeks....

please, help me!

PS: no problem with 10.0.4/Classic, the rez is always OK

Does it say that it doesn't recognise the monitor? If it just starts up in 800x600 it might be some corrupt preference-file.

Same thing happened to me.

Simple Solution:

Turn the monitor off when re-booting. Wait until the machine has re-booted before turning it back on.

i.e. every time you power down the machine, turn the monitor off as well. When you start up the machine do the machine first......then the monitor.

See if that solves the problem
