any help?
whenever i put in a cd/dvd into my intel imac. i get this horrible noise like its trying to eat the damn thing...cd comes up fine, but it sounds like its spinning incredibly fast and hitting something, not sure. ?????!@?

My drive seems to be very loud, also, but since it functions fine I put up with it. It does seem that it shouldn't be quite so blaring, but until it actually craps out on me I don't really know of any recourse.

Apple disc drives are loud so get used to it. Our PowerBook's and iMac's is slightly louder than JFK International Airport at Christmas.
