I read an article a week or so ago about the filming of X3. Apparently they had several nerds on hand, from writing through post-production, to consult any time they had a question regarding individual mutants.

Just like the first two movies, they've taken several threads explored in the comics and adapted and intertwined them to take place in a 2+ hour movie.

This is what surprised me.
Being in debt and celebrating a lower deficit is like being on a diet and celebrating the fact you gained two pounds this week instead of five.

I would prefer a small juggernaut to a cgi catastrophe like "the hulk." Although the technical hurdles to create jugg would likely be far less than the green guy, I still fear a giant cgi enhanced man would be a bit cheesy looking.

I think the beast looks fine as well

Maybe the trailer uses footage that's not all the way cleaned up, but does Mystique's voice sound different? In the past two movies her voice sounded like it was processed through a synthesizer, but in this trailer it sounds like Rebecca Romijn.

Also, I think Wolverine picked up a New York accent along the way...

They thought Jean Grey was dead at the end of X2, I just figured that was her funeral. I can't find Prof X in the screenshot though.

You were supposed to believe that Jean died, but then at the end you see the Professor coyly smiling about something and in the closing shot they pan over the water and you can see something bright in the reflection (which many people correctly interpreted as the Phoenix).

Well I think the Phoenix thing at the end of 2 was very obvious.

I don't think it is Jeans funeral. That wouldn't explain the empty Prof X chair.

Also I don't think they would start off the movie on a big downer of a funeral WITHOUT Prof X there.

PLUS if you watch the trailer you see this in this order:

1) Someone washed up on the side of the river (Prob the same that Jean died in)

2) Wolverine leaning forward saying Jean

3) Jean hooked up to some life support.

In other words they found her on the riverbank and took her home. I don't think they would waste time with an emotionless funeral and then show her 20 minutes later.

Yeah, I hope this movie gets over to Japan really really quickly. I want to see it on the big screen several times. Hmm... big screen + popcorn + beer = fun.

Yeah, special effects lovin. Gotta respect that.

Right, I never thought it was Jean's funeral either. I'm not all that sure it's Professor X's, as another character is conspicuously absent.

I'm more wondering if it will have Sentinels in it. Looks like that saga from the comic is what is going on. Also Forge was around at that time as well.

That is what I didn't like about the first 2. X-men isn't the same without the sentinels.

Yeah, from the trailer it seems rather that it is cyclops funeral. I wouldn't have expected them to kill him any more than Xavier, but the show can go on without him. X is a little more key to the story.

I doubt very much there will be sentinels. I think perhaps the allusion to Apocalypse and the introduction of Angel will likely be a setup for the next movie if there is one, and we won't actually see the big guy until then.

A Fox exec has said this is the last X-Men movie, but who knows -- the dollar is a very powerful tool. The same exec also said there are separate Wolverine and Magneto pictures being kicked around with cameos by the others. Some people think Storm will also get her own movie, but I'm not sure how I feel about that.

I still say that Angela Bassett would have made for a better Storm

And that Sid Vicious would have made for a better Sabertooth

No Ms. Marvel, no flight.
It should also be noted Rogue was depowered (along with most of the mutants in the marvel verse) and repowered with only her original absorbition abilities. (ultimate verse Rogue is a completely different story)

Yes, but she was a very fun character as a flyin', ass-kickin' southern belle. And it's clear the current storyline is prior to (aka leading up to) that event and not occuring after the re-wipe.
