An excuse to show off the mod I did this morning.

Roy Lichtenstein's Blam

EDIT: The site I used to host the image is limiting my views. You can see my iBook here if the next link is broken.

[edit]removed the picture. It was just to crappy. Updates will come later when I get my new desk.. So now you know.[/edit]
Nothing special. Just my mess and my iBook at my old flat. Sorry for the mess btw.
I really have no suited desk to put my iBook on. It's a good thing I bought a portable.

It's funny, but the people who start these picture threads never seem to post pictures of their own.

Yeah, and these threads have been made dozens of times before also. I'll guess that makes us Apple fanatics.

Come on guys, get some setups in here. I might be picking up an iBook soon, and some killer photos might help convince me.

I sleep with my iBook!!!

Yep, When I go to bed, Koobi's there. When I wake up in the morning, he's there too... (sleeping too). This setup has caused problems, often I accidently throw my blanket or pillow onto Koobi while he's running, and he gets really hot under the covers.

Koobi's my iBook by the way

Koobi's trackpad seems to be a little worn out. How's your finger?
I'm-a trying to wonder, wonder, wonder why you, wonder, wonder why you act so.

That's actually one of those 11 dollar a pack Japanese trackpad skins. So thats the skin thats worn out. Koobi's only slightly worn out under there.

I was planning on contributing my own setup photo today, but instead I have just finished packing the darn thing back up. After what seemed like an eternity of going back and forth (iBook, PowerBook, or wait a while), I finally convinced myself to get a 12" 900MHz iBook.

I got it home, only to realize that the trackpad and button do not work, the latch will not keep the lid closed, and there are 2 stuck pixels in pretty obvious locations. I may have just let the stuck pixels slide, but obviously the trackpad is unacceptable, and I'd hate my poor iBook to pop it's lid in my pack and overheat. I bought it from a place with a 15 day return policy, so back it goes today. I'd rather not send a few hour old machine in to Apple for repairs, thank you very much.

I wonder if this is a sign from above to wait until July/August to buy my portable...

Seriously though, I am very bummed out about this. The iBook is very fast to me, and although it could be the Placebo Effect kicking in, it seems head and shoulders above the 800MHz model. A very nice machine.

I may have to just get another one elsewhere this weekend - this was the last in stock where I bought it. *sigh*

Damn rotten Apples.

Hehe, built myself... yeah right I can't even bang a nail into the wall...

It's a "no name" fabricat. I actually bought it at a local shopping mall. They're not even specialized on furnishing, but they had that desk for about 40 bucks...

I wanted to get a glass-made desk, but they were too expensive...

Ah, it's so good to see a clamshell iBook, especially of the Tangerine variety. In terms of looks, the only reason I prefer the newer white iBooks is their smaller size.

BTW: I use a green clamshell iBook icon for the built-in HDD on my iBook/500.

These pictures were taken about a week ago when I got my G4 iBook. The setup has changed since then. I have my iBook on a table set up next to my desk because it was uncomfortable to reach the keyboard when the iBook was on my desk. The little fish on my desk is Manfred, a betta.
iBook G4: 800mhz, 640mb, 40gb ("Astrid")
iPod: 30gb Photo ("Gordon"), 1gb Shuffle ("Tinker Bell")
For the record: I am female

I noticed your D-Link 614+. I use one with a desktop PC that has a D-Link PCI card. I have 128bit encryption turned on between the router and PC. Does Airport support this or would I have to turn encryption off to add a Mac?

Thanks

Hey, beautiful work. Reminds me of customizations done to computers in the movie 'Hackers'. I'll be keeping mine straight white with the glowing Apple because it feels angelic to me with light peircing darkness hehe. Hmmm, maybe I'll have to cover the Apple so that the light is round.

I think I'll buy an iBook first. Yeah, having one would help.
