Yep. I also read that it counts against you when you're driving the Warthog and someone else is shooting the turret.

I'm about halfway through the campaign and it's actually quite challenging on solo. Each gun has limited ammo so you're constantly swapping out weapons. 4 Player Legendary is the way to go. You can blow through some of the levels that normally take a long time to complete on solo. Haven't had a chance to try out Firefight yet but so far I'm really digging the campaign levels and the new weapons.

That's still a hell of a lot easier than meleeing your way through a level.

Does it have to be done single player? Because being a tourist with three other players seems rather obvious.

Wasn't ODST supposed to be the first game that supported avatar awards? Google doesn't provide any answers at the moment.

Ah yes, those were the days. Sadly, no more Spartan Stelios tag to use, and my current tag O8080 is only just finding its ghost feet again. (my gold live account expires in 2 week, so considering a new tag again perhaps or keep my O8080)

From what I can tell, there is fairly limited ammo on firefight too. But then I probably haven't been making the best use of ammo and enemy weapons. what can I say, I love that SMG. I've played 2 games of Crater firefight and haven't finished one yet.

I'll have to start a solo campaign game of ODST this weekend, just don't know if I should try it on Normal or Heroic.

Of course I've been trying to play Wolfenstein too. Not a bad game, if Raven/Activision got an update out for it to prevent the freeze bug (and fix the mulltiplayer), it would be great - you could replay levels.

Ooooh, first ODST style Double EXP weekend. I'll have to check this out, in between playing the campaign.

I started a Halo ODST campaign on Heroic, so I can start c,aching up to Bogues on achievements, and I have to say, I'm enjoying it more than I enjoyed Halo 3.

Agreed. I felt like a lot more work went into Halo 3 multiplayer, while ODST is obviously more campaign-centric.

Ok, I hate Hunters. Damn things killed me 3 or more times I think, until I found a spot where I could get a shot at their backs. If only I found that spot earlier.

Just in case I run into another bunch, besides the red patch on their back, is there any other vulnerable spot?

Alright, I ordered the game. Not because I'm excited for it (I am, mildly), but because if I keep playing CoD4 at this rate, I'll be sick of the game by the time MW2 comes out.

On another note, does anyone know what you get with the Road to Recon achievements - I believe there are 7 of them? I have 3 of them now - just got the Brainpan one. Some diehard must have gotten them all by now.

Here's the stats from my most current Firefight match. As you can see, I really love the pistol in this game.

Bungie.net : Halo 3 ODST Firefight Game : Alpha Site (Co-Op) : 09.27.2009 1:28 AM

For those of you that don't have silverlight installed:

I was pleasantly surprised to find out the 200k firefight achievements are based on team score not individual.

Not sure? If the campaign is about equal to Halo 3s the Firefight mode would have to be as deep as Halo 3s multi for them to be both worth $60. Somehow, I doubt that is the case.

Microsoft says Halo 3: ODST disc read errors aren't 'widespread'

You guys have any issues?

What I fins particularly galling is a small amount of the people in comments seem to be reporting consistently laggy gameplay and achievement popups.

The ODST disk however...Game invites, achievements, friend online...all notifications seem to be laggy for me. Sometimes. I got 200,000 on Crater today and it was instant. Audiophile was pretty instant too. But all of the "Finished such-and-such Campaign level on Normal, Heroic or Legendary" and "Found a clue" are really delayed....on one I checked my achievements, saw I unlocked it, and got the notification 30 seconds later.

And again, friend online and game invites seem to also have laggy notifications

Haven't found any issues here so far. The lag for achievements has always seemed a little bit inconsistent to me on 360 — I thought that was just how its notification system worked.

And yes, there's theater mode.

1. 2 hour duration? - Yes but there was only 2 players in that match. I heard that it takes about 1.5 hours to fully complete a firefight level with 4 players.

2. ODST Theater Mode? - Yes. Sorry, I haven't had any time to post screenshots. Maybe tonight.

3. Lag - I haven't experienced any lag in game play.... until last night. It was almost unplayable at times. Game invites are extremely laggy. I sent a game invite to my brother last night and the little "invite sent" bubble at the bottom of the screen didn't pop up until 2 minutes later.

Those two hours went by pretty quick. Besides you only need to complete 1 level for the achievement. We got the 200k achievement way before the match ended.

Who cares about the achievements. Online multi matches usually range from 10- 30 minutes per... Would be nice if they had some comparably short (or closer) Firefights. Wasn't that the problem with Horde, too? Trying to coordinate 5 guys to meet-up at the same time and had 2 hours open? The immersive L4D took around an hour, and I think that was with both sides taking turns.

Thank Masterchief (or god)! I thought I was going to have to play several 2 hour games of firefight. I like playing Halo 3 and Halo 3 ODST, but playing for 1.5 or 2 hours with no time down-time, I don't know if I'm that interested. Course I guess you could pause the game for a break.

Agreed, I like the time limits of the multi-player and depending on the playlist you select, it can be longer or shorter.

Ho well, I'll team-up on the weekend with a couple friends and do a couple. I had one friend invite me to a game, but I was in the middle of a hard part of the single player campaign.

Haha... Boostface Killah. I wonder if that gamertag is already taken?

Maybe you should have rented the game before you bought it. Is it too late to cancel your Amazon order? Or are you're trying to set expectations so low that when you do play the game, the $40-$50 you spent won't feel like a ripoff because it wasn't as bad as you thought?

Trust me, firefight is fun. I enjoy it much more than Horde on Gears 2. And Horde was the only thing I liked about GoW 2 multiplayer.

That would be pretty sweet. If you've seen Inglourious Basterds, I saw a dude named "The Bear Jew" on Gears a few weeks ago. It was great.

I thought about renting it, but that's such a waste of money. I'm not sure how much it costs nowadays, but if its $5 for a few days, that seriously cuts into the savings I was trying to pull off. I got it $10 off with $10 for later, good enough (particularly with a $25 reward card to take the edge off).

Well, you should remember I actually enjoyed Gears after the third title update. My biggest gripe with Firefight is I have to have friends on to play. I'd rather play with you guys, but the lack of flexibility is a downer.

I'm not surprised!

The first 5 in the list make sense to me. The others I don't know that well.

edit: COD must give Halo a run for it's money though. They must be close.

Got a kick out of a friend - he found out his 10 year old son was playin COD 4 at a friend's house. OUCH.
