Hey, I bought World of Warcraft before the intel Macs came out for use on my now defunct PC. I have an intel Core Duo iMac now, and I'm wondering if I should even bother installing this older version. The sysreq only references g4/g5 processors...

Thanks.

World of Warcraft will have to update to the latest patch anyway, so it will be native by the time you can play it.

How much more "performance" can I squeeze out of my iMac Intel 1.83GHz with 1GB RAM if I were to upgrade it to 2GB RAM?

Here's a possibly ignorant question...

Does the Mac version of WoW allow you to play with everyone who is playing on PCs? I know this is probably a dumb thing to ask, but...

yes...there is no different version of WoW for mac and pc. blizz makes its games work on both pc and macs on the same cd. alot of people dont understand that they do it and its just common, so its not an ignorant question

Blizzard doesn't use DirectPlay from Microsoft, that's basically where you get games that don't work cross-platform.

Run it like crazy on your MBP. I have played wow for two years on a Powerbook 1.33, hit PVP Rank 13 so you know how much time that took (ugh). They are made to go and go. You wont hurt it!

hmm interesting i have been running it pretty much constant since i got the game a few months ago enough for a 60 rank 7 and various other sub 30's however in the last week or so i have noticed a drop in performance i get lag very often now that puts me to a point where i cant game properly but i have also noticed the performance drop in all applications on it i have tried a verify and repair but it didnt help much.

its starting to get annoying as all BG's now are just not fun

This week the WOW background updater has been running to get us all ready for the patch next week. Check that first, as it really bogs me down. Then check your process list and see if anything is slowing you locally.

1. What's wrong with the quest log? It holds 25 quests instead of 20

2. Both need to be updated to comply with the latest changes Blizzard has made. Check CT at http://www.ctmod.net
