Am going to get a calendar printed using iPhoto. Have not done this before. Each calendar page has 3 photos. Should the originals of each of these pictures be cropped to 4 x 6 to be used for the calendar?

Also, you can print your own...if you are planning on having sevral made up. I did some for a family reunion last year, and just exported to PDF, then printed on Glossy Card stock. Use a 3 hole punch, and a single hole punch, and you're set.

You don't have to crop before adding to the calendar. I've ordered several and they are of excellent quality.
