Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone is using SwitchRes X on an iMac DV with an external monitor. The author of the program claims that this program allows you to run the external monitor at 1280x1024, and shuts off the iMac's monitor. I tried it myself and it works, but I'm wondering if I might run into problems doing this. Does the iMac's monitor safely turn off, being a feature of it, or is it shutting off for safety reasons because it can't handle that high of a resolution. Has used their iMac for a considerable amount of time at 1280x1024? Did anything happen? I'm quite excited about running my iMac at a higher resolution on a larger screen but I don't want to risk damaging the internal monitor. Thanks.

Brad
