I there any way I can format a drive so that I can use it with OS X as well as Win XP ?

Fat32 would work, but will limit you to files that cannot be larger then 4gb. Also, if the drive is over 127gb, OS X won't work with it properly, due to lack of LBA48 addressing in the Fat32 code.

i formatted a drive with 1 partition fat32, 1 partition hfs+.

however, the 'partition table' is in apple format, and it appears the fat32 partition is subsequently not readable under windows.

anyone know of an OS X program that will make a partition table that is not an 'apple specific format' and more universal?
