"For over a decade, Blink-182 has toured, recorded and done non-stop promotion all while trying to balance relationships with family and friends.
To that end, the band has decided to go on an indefinite hiatus to spend some time enjoying the fruits of their labors with their loved ones. While there is no set plan for the band to begin working together again, no one knows what tomorrow may bring."
when they run out of money maybe?

Ooooh, lets have a contest to see who can guess how many posts in this thread it takes until a Blink-182 fan shows up.
I'll wager my guess at 39 posts.

Okay, that's half a point. Add another lukewarm comment and they'll equal one fan.

They have some catchy melodies, but in their earlier stuff they can't sing at all! So their producer I'm sure fixed up their out-of-tune singing in later albums. I'm a sucker for a good melody and some of their songs do have them.
But I like artists that can sing and sound good live. Never been to a show, so I dunno.

Their drummer is ridiculous.
They put on a good live show, they're teeny-bopping fans tarnish how good they are. I wouldn't say it's "sad" b/c I mean they should spend time w/ their families now that they're loaded, and they're last album was easily the best, so it's best to burn out bright.
EDIT: And I totally support Head's decision (from Korn). At least he's got the guts to stand for what he believes in. At the very least, he deserves respect.

That's the thing though, they were sort of pioneers in their style of music--one of the first I believe to really bring Punk to the masses?

You know, sometime soon people will realise that being a music snob just makes you look like an ass. I'm fairly indifferent about this band - they have done a few good tracks, and Miss You is on a lot of radio playlists in the UK at the moment - but whether or not I like doesn't change the fact that a lot of other people do. Nobody has the right to tell anybody else what they should and shouldn't like.
Hey - at least these guys can actually play instruments. If you want to take a pop at someone, take a pop at all these talentless manufactured boy and girl bands...

i think theyre alright. Kinda light music to listen to, that sounds kinda pop, but not like the backstreet boys and teen idols. they write, and play their own music, which means a lot to me.
I think they were alright.
Cheers.
P.S.>> seemed like it was a 'popular' thing a couple of years ago to diss Dave Matthews, Blink 182 and Greenday. The 'music elitists jumped all over it. But i like all three of em. They make their own music, and it dosent sound bad at all.

I was at Disneyland last year, and all these preteen girls started going crazy, yelling and screaming and jumping up and down. I was standing next to an old black lady in a wheel chair. A guy walking by said "What's all the excitement?". The old lady said "I don't know, I guess the punkass with the tattoos must be famous". I almost pissed myself I was laughing so hard.
His wife's pretty hot though, I'll give him that.

Stupid tossers, those idiots never should have been signed in the first place.
"What's my flippin' age again?" might have been a tolerable enough tune when it came out, but apart from that, they've never been more than a bunch of worthless, untalented, tone-deaf retards.
Good riddance.

Well said. Blink182 has a catchy sound and their on their last album I think they diversified themselves a fair bit. I like most of the tracks on the last album, which most of the self-proclaimed music experts in this thread probably haven't even heard in its entirety. Its always a smart move to pigeonhole a band based on its fanbase and a single popular track you heard 5 years ago.
Anyway, I now return you to the "blink sucks" bandwagon-hopping show.
