Hi All. I thought that this would make everyone have a good laugh. A friend of mine at work who has been a huge supporter of Mirco$oft is making the switch over to the mac - Finally. I showed him some things that could be done on the mac and he was sold. Well, that and his growing frustration with PC's.

Well anyway. He likes to research things thoroughly, and he was looking all over the net for reviews on the Mac Mini. He comes across a Mac Mini review site where basically the author was bashing the Mac Mini big time:

http://www.divisiontwo.com/articles/MacMini2.html

The reasons and explanations from the Author will make you laugh.

My personal favorite was the:

"In fact, it took our techs about fifteen minutes before we realized the unit itself was operating normally and it was the monitor that was not plugged in properly. It turns out the Mini uses a weird kind of display connector on the back that requires a special adapter if you want to plug it into a PC monitor."

And this guy is a MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer).

Anyway, if you get a chance, check it out, have a laugh and try to read the other reviews on the site:

This was discussed a while ago in the Lounge, I believe.

In addition, it's not even Power Mac related. Moving to the lounge, as there doesn't seem to be another appropriate forum.

So is the mini a maxi value?_ For me, clearly, no._ When I consider that a good deal of my time is spent running applications like Disk Defragmenter, Scandisk, Norton AV, Windows Update and Ad-Aware--none of which are available for the Mac platform--it doesn't make sense for me to "switch" to a Mac at this time._
What can I say - the man has a point.

I can beat that - my registration date in the AppleInsider forums is 5/7/1990.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

2 current threads on this same topic. One has to go.

He likely did post at least once back in the day. Posts before 6/2001 are no longer associated with the person who posted them. Just check the archives for all those posts by "guests." Many have lots hundreds or even thousands of posts. It's no different for him to have lost one or two.

However, it's almost 4 years since that problem and he hasn't posted so that's pretty close.
